What it is
Botox is an aesthetic medical treatment that uses purified botulinum toxin to temporarily relax the facial muscles that cause expression lines. It is the ideal solution if you wish to eliminate or soften forehead lines, crow’s feet, or other signs of aging, while maintaining a natural appearance without resorting to surgery.
The treatment acts selectively on specific areas of the face:
- Forehead Botox: smoothes horizontal forehead wrinkles for a more relaxed and youthful expression
- Eye Botox (glabella and eye contour): softens expression lines between the eyebrows and at the sides of the eyes, opening up the gaze
- Gummy smile Botox: reduces excessive gum exposure when you smile, creating a more harmonious smile
- Cheek and cheekbone Botox: slightly lifts facial muscles for a natural and delicate lifting effect
- Hyperhidrosis Botox: reduces excessive sweating of the armpits, hands, and feet

How it is performed
Botulinum toxin is injected directly into the muscle responsible for the wrinkle using very fine needles. The injection is precise and controlled, guided by the doctor’s anatomical knowledge. The effect is not immediate: the botulinum toxin works by blocking the nerve signals that cause repeated muscle contraction. Without this contraction, the muscle gradually relaxes and the overlying skin becomes smoother.
The mechanism is completely reversible: the muscle does not become paralyzed, but simply less active, allowing you to maintain normal facial expressions. If you choose to discontinue the treatment, you will return to your natural state within 4–6 months.

WHAT TO AVOID:
- For the first 4 hours: do not touch the treated area, do not have facial massages, and do not apply heavy makeup
- For the first 24 hours: avoid intense physical activity, saunas, hot baths, and direct heat on the face (hairdryers, sunbeds)
- For the first 3 days: do not sleep with your head resting directly on your face; keep your head slightly elevated
- Always avoid: alcohol for the following 24 hours and anticoagulant medications unless prescribed by a doctor
HOW TO TAKE CARE:
- Apply a gentle soothing and moisturizing cream to the treated area
- Use SPF 50+ sun protection in the following days if exposed to the sun
- Drink plenty of water to stay hydrated
- You can resume wearing makeup after a few hours, but use light products
- If small bruises appear (rare), avoid further trauma and apply ice for the first 2 days
- Normal reactions that disappear naturally: slight redness at injection points (a few hours), small bruises (5–7 days), a sensation of light tension (24–48 hours), and possible mild headache (paracetamol)
