What it is and how it is performed

What It Is

Breast surgery is an aesthetic breast surgery procedure that can be of three types based on your goals: augmentation mammoplasty (volume increase with implants), reduction mammoplasty (volume and weight reduction), or mastopexy (sagging breast lift). The technique is chosen based on your aesthetic goal, anatomy, and breast characteristics. It is the ideal solution if you wish to increase breast volume for a more harmonious silhouette, or if your breasts are too large and cause discomfort, or if your breasts are sagging and you desire a lift. Perfect for those who want a permanent, harmonious result proportionate to the rest of the figure.

Breast surgery is one of the most requested aesthetic surgery procedures with highly gratifying results.

How It Is Performed

The procedure is performed under general anesthesia in a facility with an overnight stay. In the case of augmentation mammoplasty (augmentation), the surgeon inserts silicone breast implants behind the pectoral muscle or behind the mammary gland, through incisions hidden under the breast or around the areola. In the case of reduction mammoplasty (reduction) and mastopexy (lift), the surgeon removes excess breast tissue and skin, repositions the areola and nipple, and recreates the desired shape. The result is a harmonious, proportionate, and natural breast.

The technique is personalized: the surgeon chooses the most suitable approach based on your desires and anatomy.

This procedure must be performed exclusively by a qualified and certified plastic surgeon in an authorized and accredited facility with appropriate equipment for general anesthesia. It requires a thorough specialist examination with palpation, evaluation of desired size and shape, discussion of implant options, blood tests, and instrumental examinations. It is contraindicated during pregnancy, breastfeeding, uncontrolled breast pathologies (carcinoma, infections), allergies to implant materials. Results vary based on skin quality, surgical technique used, type of implant chosen, and individual healing response.
